The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) provides wholesale water and sewer services to Boston and sixty other communities, and rehabilitates and reconstructs area water supply and sewage treatment facilitites to preserve public health and protect natural resources. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Law Division provides legal counsel to all other MWRA divisions, managing documents required to comply with MWRA court-mandated Boston Harbor Project, litigation, and environmental law issues. Series was created by the division to resolve legal issues relating to the transfer of the metropolitan Boston water and sewer systems from the Metropolitan District Commission to the MWRA.
